Magnus Grimmett

My career started in institutional finance in London, where I served as Chief Technology Officer and a board member of a hedge fund — personally authorised by the UK Financial Services Authority — and helped scale the platform past $1 billion in assets under management. Modeling risk, defending assumptions to allocators, and reporting on capital that belonged to somebody else is the discipline everything since has been built on.

In 2013 I moved to Colorado and founded Eppilus, a smart home and audiovisual integration firm. We have delivered infrastructure to estates collectively valued at over $1 billion, including Aspen's most expensive recorded residential sale, with projects across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Europe. Running a construction-adjacent trade business taught me the cost side of a project from the field up: what actually gets installed, what it costs when it is done twice, and where a schedule really slips.

Ajax MS grew out of the same work but serves a different need. It is a technology concierge — an MSP for individuals and businesses who want someone on retainer handling their systems continuously rather than calling for a fix once something has already broken.

That combination is what I brought to development. At Mustang Commercial I lead capital structure, underwriting, and lender relationships across an active portfolio financed through private equity, senior construction debt, and mezzanine capital from institutional lenders and funds. The finance background sets the numbers; the technology business means we can design intelligent systems and secure networks into a building rather than bolt them on afterward.

The through-line is straightforward. Finance taught me to underwrite. Technology taught me how buildings actually go together. Development is where both get used at once.
